Our Promise: Going The Extra Mile For Every Pet
At Shvanas, our approach is simple: we will go the extra mile for dogs – every single time.
Whether it means traveling across the world to find the latest technology or spending sleepless nights tending to a sick pet, “we will do whatever it takes” to improve a pet’s quality of life.
This ethos is more than just words on a page – it’s a personal mission shaped by experiences like Gracie’s. We carry Gracie’s memory with us in every decision.
Her story reminds us why we started this journey: to give pets the best life possible, for as long as possible. It’s a promise that every elderly, sick, or injured pet will be given a chance at comfort and happiness, and that no effort will be spared in making them feel loved.
In honoring Gracie’s legacy, we renew our pledge that every Shvanas staff member, partner, and pet parent is part of this compassionate mission. We invite you to join us in living this ethos – to celebrate the joy of each wagging tail, to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves, and to never lose hope. It's our hope you carry a little of Gracie’s joyful and relentless spirit in you for the rest of your life.
Gracie, the heart of Shvanas’ ethos. Rescued from a drain at eight years old, Gracie spent six long years in a boarding home waiting for a family. She was battling cancer from head to toe, in constant pain, yet she never lost her gentle spirit.
Our team stepped in to give Gracie a fighting chance – after 20 hours of intensive therapy, she miraculously started to recover and even returned to her fosterer with renewed energy.
When her cancer cruelly spread to her lungs and breathing became difficult, we welcomed Gracie back into our care so she could spend her final days surrounded by love and comfort. On her first day back she was gravely ill (vomiting and passing blood), and we feared she wouldn’t last the night. Yet, six hours in our wellness device and deep, healing rest brought Gracie back to her cheerful self.
Incredibly, a large external tumor shrank by 2 cm, and Gracie was able to walk, wag her tail, and enjoy each day at our shop. She remained the epitome of joy and happiness, taking daily walks up until her very last breath. Gracie’s courage and will to live, even in the face of overwhelming odds, embodies everything we strive for at Shvānas.
Gracie’s story isn’t just an anecdote – it’s our guiding light. Through her, we learned that if a dog can push herself to the absolute limits to live with joy, we owe it to them to push ourselves just as hard to care for and comfort them. Her resilience fuels our passion every day.
