Service Dogs: More Than Just a Pet — A Real Helper With a Big Heart
A service dog is a specially trained dog that helps a person who needs extra support in daily life. Service dogs aren’t just “good dogs” — they’re trained to stay calm, listen well, and do helpful tasks when it matters most. They give people more freedom, more confidence, and more safety, every day.
At Shvānas, we believe dogs are capable of so much more than being a companion. With the right training and the right purpose, a dog can become someone’s teammate — helping them live a fuller, safer, happier life.
The exact training depends on the handler’s needs — service dogs are trained for purpose, not just tricks
Types of Service Dogs
Medical Alert & Response Dogs
These dogs can be trained to notice early signs that something is wrong and respond in a helpful way — like getting help, fetching items, or guiding the person to safety.
Mobility Assistance Dogs
These dogs help people who have difficulty moving around. They can help with simple daily tasks, making life easier and safer.
Psychiatric Service Dogs
These dogs support people who struggle with serious anxiety, panic episodes, or PTSD by doing trained tasks that help the person feel safer and calmer
Autism Support Dogs
These dogs can support children and families by helping the child feel calmer, safer, and more regulated in daily routines and public settings.
Hearing Assistance Dogs
These dogs are trained to alert a person to important sounds, helping them respond safely and confidently.
Guide Dogs
These dogs help visually impaired handlers move safely and confidently in public spaces.
🦮 Our Certified Service Dog Trainer
Ms Nikitha Rajendran is Shvānas’ Principal Trainer, and her story is built on real love for dogs.
She has been rescuing and training dogs since the age of 11. What started as passion became a lifelong mission. Over the years, she grew into a professional dog trainer, specialising in:
- Basic Obedience Training
- Behavioural Correction Training (helping dogs with difficult habits and improving manners)
Later, she made an important realisation:
Dogs can do more than just be a companion.
That’s when she pursued and achieved certification in service dog training, so dogs could be trained not only to behave well — but to help people, support families, and create real impact.
Let Your Dog Reach Their Fullest Potential
Some people get a dog just to have a pet. And that’s okay. Dogs bring joy, comfort, and love.
But at Shvānas, we want people to see something bigger:
A dog can become a hero in everyday life.
With the right training, your dog can:
- Learn patience and calmness
- Build confidence and discipline
- Become reliable in public and at home
- And in the right path — become a helper dog that supports someone who truly needs it
When a dog has purpose, their life becomes richer too. They’re not just “living” — they’re doing something meaningful.
So if you’re thinking of getting a dog, or you already have one, ask yourself:
What if my dog could do more than just be a pet?
What if my dog could help someone — and change a life?
That’s what service dog training is about. And that’s what Shvānas is here for.
Heal The Buddy
Heal The Buddy isn’t just another device — it’s redefining how the world cares for pets.
It is a non-invasive treatment that operates on infrared ray heat and wavelength energy. This treatment is suitable for those with inflammation/growth such as cancer, mobility issues, immunity issues due to old age, post surgery and neurological related diseases.
This treatment is also a great preventative therapy for those who just needs an immunity boost.
